Gaining is great! Piling on pounds of fat (and muscle if you want, as I do) is gleeful and full of joy, BUT REMEMBER THAT NUTRITION IS STILL REALLY IMPORTANT AND SEPARATE FROM CALORIE RESTRICTION.

One great food for lots of healthy fats and nutriets with little effort is SUNFLOWER SEEDS!

You can buy them shelled by the pound at Trader Joe’s for only $2, and these little motherfuckers have so much going for them!

A) extremely calorie dense. We’re talking ~3,000 calories for just the one pound.

B) healthier fat distribution. Each serving has only 2.5 grams of saturated (slightly more dangerous) fat, but 9 grams of polyunsaturated fat and 5 grams of monounsaturated fat – these ARE STILL GONNA PACK ON POUNDS but they’re better for your heart and can help you feel better and have more energy.

C) so many fucking nutrients. Copper that’s good for your blood and skin, vitamin E that makes you literally a god, it’s ridiculous. Google it.

D) 8 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per serving – these make them great for both building muscle and good for healthy digestion – it’s important to get fiber in your diet when you’re eating as much as we are

E) They’re SUPER EASY to stealth into your day-to-day routine without being too public. Throw them in a salad, snack on them at your desk.
